One hundred years of the gallery’s existence could be commemorated in many ways. However, the Litomyšl City Gallery decided to take a different path – without pathetic reminiscing and long historical explanations. We have prepared an interactive timeline that allows you to browse through the history of the gallery in a playful and accessible way.
The project is intended for everyone – regular visitors to the gallery and those who have not known much about its history. The individual chapters are therefore not written as expert historical studies. You will not find notes or long citations of sources. Instead, they present short stories and moments that have shaped the gallery over the decades. Just click on the years and take a little journey through history. There’s also a playful musical element to the page – each yearbook has its own tone, and a tiny melody is created as you move around the page.
Since 1926, the story of the gallery has been written in Litomyšl, and it continues with each successive generation.
Project The future since 1926 prepared by the Litomyšl City Gallery. The authors of the conceptual and content concept are Martina Zuzaňáková and Jana Kosková. The website was designed and developed by wwworks studio (Lenka Bartoschek, Johny Bartoschek, Pavel Hájek and Matyáš Hájek).
