MONOTYPE DRAWING

(pre-school, elementary and secondary schools)

Take part in a workshop where you will be introduced to positive as well as negative printing techniques and where you can try out several kinds of paper and printing colours. With monotype drawing, you start by rolling out a drop of printing colour on paper. Putting another sheet on top of the paper you then start drawing with a pencil, stick or your finger.

PRINTING FROM MATERIAL COLLAGE

During the workshop you will attach different types of discarded fabric, cartridge paper or natural materials onto a firm mat. This will create an unconventional matrix for producing original prints using a printing press.

LINOCUT

Even an old scrap of ordinary linoleum can help create a beautiful picture. We will use cutters to draw a motif based on geometrical shapes and colour contrasts. Then we will apply colour to The cut image with a roller and finally we will print the mat onto a sheet of paper or a linen bag with the help of a printing press.

PHOTOGRAM

Photogram is one of the oldest experimental photographic techniques that results in original black and white images without the use of camera. In the process all sorts of object of various transparency are placed onto photographic paper in a darkroom. The composition is exposed to light and the paper is then developed just like a traditional photograph.

Design your own tile! First, you will use clay to create a mould that will shape out your tile. Pressing different objects and natural materials into its surface, or carving it, will define the look of the tile. After that you will make a plaster cast. The resulting low-relief object can be finely coloured.
