Renata Edlmanová’s works focus primarily on material collage, which is distinguished by its vivid colour. However, in her project for the City Picture Gallery, entitled Revers, the artist has abandoned her previous way of working in favour of site-specific installations. This conceptually conceived series of works thematizes the process of sewing. Instead of sleek and technically perfect structures, however, the artist offers viewers “a view from the other, reverse side”. Minimalist embroideries with motifs of dance poses were created randomly. They are a reflection of reality, in which every thought or deed has its other, hidden face.
