Are you one of those people who have bought a beautiful notebook for the tenth time to keep a diary, but don’t know how to get started? Have you ever thought of creating your own short story or fairy tale for children, but you don’t have anyone to give you advice and feedback?
\nDon’t despair, during the two-day workshop I write, I draw. Records of everyday life <\/strong>you will learn everything with us! We’ll introduce you to creative writing techniques and the basics of illustration so that you can finally create the journal or story of your dreams! Your tutors will be the writer Mark\u00e9ta Pil\u00e1tov\u00e1<\/strong> and the illustrator Andrea Tachezy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Workshop price: 1200,- (the price includes materials and refreshments).

LECTURERS
\n<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Mark\u00e9ta Pil\u00e1tov\u00e1<\/strong> is a writer, translator and journalist. She studied Romance Studies and History at the Faculty of Arts of Palack\u00fd University in Olomouc, where she worked as an assistant professor for six years. For two years she worked as a lecturer of Czech at the Department of Slavonic Studies in Granada, Spain, then went to Argentina and Brazil for 12 years, where she taught the descendants of Czech compatriots. In Latin America she began writing novels and children’s books, strongly inspired by the local environment and the stories of Czech exiles.
\nAs a journalist, she writes mainly for the weekly Respekt and often cooperates with Czech Radio. She is the author of numerous novels, short story books, poems and thirteen children’s books. His best-known novels include Yellow Eyes Lead Home<\/em> (2007), Tsunami Blues<\/em> (2014) and With Bata in the Jungle<\/em> (2017). The author’s most recent work is the novel Sensibil<\/em>, published in 2020 by Torst, and the children’s books B\u00e1ba Bedla<\/em> and Arno\u0161tova cesta<\/em>. Mark\u00e9ta Pil\u00e1tov\u00e1 is one of the most translated contemporary Czech writers, her books have been translated into twelve world languages.

Andrea Tachezy<\/strong> graduated from the Textile and Alternative Techniques Studio and the Animation Studio at the Academy of Arts and Crafts. Her illustrations, which accompany mainly children’s books, are created using interesting alternative techniques. As an illustrator she has signed many titles. She was awarded the Golden Ribbon for her book Ferdinade!, Bo\u0159ivoj a blecha Fl\u00f3 and House number 226<\/em>. The book What I Dream About<\/em> was nominated for the Czech Grand Design Award 2016. This title was also included in the White Raven catalogue of the Internationale Jugendbibliothek in Munich and won the first prize of the Fedrigoni Card Couture Award 2017 in the Extraordinary Projects category.
\nIn addition to illustrations, she invents, designs and realizes small products, gifts for her shop.
